Good day to all!
For a long time I have been working with Chinese devices, and I constantly have to follow the news of this market. So, recently stumbled upon a banner on pandavila, offering to buy an updated zopo zp980, on the notorious mt6589t. Strained the memory.

Mediatek initially planned to launch three chipsets simultaneously. Directly MT6589 and two modifications. The older model with increased clock frequency, and trimmed, cheaper.

And so it came out, with the amendment that MT6589 first appeared, and only now, after almost 5 months, there were modifications marked “M” and “T”. Now, when exact specifications and real devices have already appeared, you can compare these chips.

So, the main differences between MT6589T and MT6589 are the overclocked processor frequency (1.5Ghz vs. 1.2Ghz) and overclocked graphics chip (357Mhz vs. 286 Mhz). These improvements together provide better performance and, according to Chinese friends, increased energy consumption.
But the MT6589M from the MT6589 is distinguished by the support of lower resolution cameras, and the graphics core running at 156Mhz.
By the way, why the point of display resolution is highlighted in blue in the table, I did not understand. For even the weaker MT6575 screens hung 1280 x 720pxls.
PS There are already a lot of reviews of devices on these chips on youtube, but as soon as I have the opportunity to hold one of them in my hands, I will try to write a review and tell you about the difference in working conditions.
