Winner of the All-Russian Olympiad in Informatics, detained during hacking ATM

We continue interesting news: a first-year student, a silver medalist of the All-Russian Olympiad in Informatics, has been detained in Irkutsk. The arrest took place at the moment when the 19-year-old boy tried to steal about 75 thousand rubles, withdrawing money and transferring them to telephone bills. Vlom occurred in one of the grocery stores in Irkutsk. The guards drew attention to a young man who had been making suspicious manipulations for a long time at the terminal located in the shop. Well, they called the police.



I quote the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs:

“Police experts established that the detainee reprogrammed the terminal with his own written computer program and made a series of payments through it, sending large sums of money to sim cards of frontmen”

At the moment, the police are looking for accomplices, because believes that the young man did not act alone. The identity of the detainee is not disclosed.
