Google closes Latitude services

They did not have time to go through the closure of Google Reader when a new attack appeared in the queue. Latitude, in the form in which we know it is closed. Now we will not know, at least from this service, where our children roam and how far the wife is from home. Even sadder is that the associated API services will also be closed. Closing date is August 9 .
Alternatively, you can look towards foursquare or similar services in Google Plus.

ps because I personally care about the future of such services in the network (I actively use this service myself) opened this post in order to learn from the comments about existing and planned alternatives and show them accordingly to the community. Therefore, knowledgeable alternative services, please comment on the links.
