Nokia has announced a new technology, the use of which in wireless keyboards and mice ensures a significant reduction in energy costs for work.
The Wibree wireless interface is designed to complement Bluetooth, but it can also be used independently. Both technologies operate at a frequency of 2.4 GHz and have the same range (about 10 meters). In contrast to the “big brother”, Wibree is not focused on streaming, but on packet data transmission, due to which power consumption is reduced.
The use of this solution, according to the developers, is advisable not only in the wireless computer peripherals, but also, for example, in monitors that monitor heart rate, as well as sports watches.
