New technology Ford allows you to "print" car body in a matter of hours

Immediately it should be said that this technology was created not for mass production, but for quickly creating prototypes without loss of time for the manufacture of individual parts manually. Ford Freeform Fabrication Technology (F3T) is based on the use of a number of metal plates from which the necessary body parts are “squeezed out”. According to the developers, the technology allows you to create the body of a whole car from a CAD file in a matter of hours.

Such technology can significantly speed up the process of developing prototypes, as well as their “materialization” for testing. It’s hard to believe, but it takes 60 times less time to create a car using F3T than when using the traditional method.

Of course, this reduces operating expenses, plus significantly speeds up the process of developing new cars. Perhaps, in the future, this method will be used to create customized parts for cars of the company's clients.
