The Record Companies Association (RIAA) lobbied for the law (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) ( 1 ), according to which it can now legally charge $ 750 for downloading a track and $ 150,000 for distributing a track. While not a cent is paid to the performer, the author of the composition ( 2 , translation ). Corporations that parasitize artists make huge sums of money and wastefully merge them at banquets and parties and other nonsense ( 3 , translation ). Huge money is spent on promoting the fact that downloading music is a pirate. Now we are not just music lovers - we are rapists and thieves who deprive the owners of their property. There are millions of us and the dying industry of champions, nothing to do but to intimidate us by ruining children ( 4 ), old people ( 5 ) and single mothers ( 6 ). Communities of music lovers who do not receive any profit from their existence are closing ( 7 , 3 ). Corporations put pressure on the US government, and in turn put pressure on other countries. ( 8 ) The agony of dying corporations has reached Russia with a new civil code, full of insanity ( 9 ) It turns out that taxpayers' rights are limited to the state for their own money. Some countries already have political parties addressing this issue.

I have a small collection of music, approximately 350 albums. Imagine that I would buy (take at least 150 rubles) ... It turns out 52500 rubles. Who has that kind of money, and who would spend it to buy music?

And in general, doesn’t the artist have to earn money, give concerts, sweating on the stage?
