SpaceX Grasshopper set a new record

The Grasshopper project (English - "Grasshopper") to create a reusable space rocket from SpaceX does not stand still. Let me remind you that the main use of these missiles will be a launch into orbit with the possibility of a reverse landing.

On the 14th of June, a test of a new version of the “Grasshopper” was performed on which a new record was set - 325 meters (the previous one was 250 meters). In addition, the rocket is now equipped with a new sensor to improve the accuracy of measuring the position of the rocket relative to the surface of the Earth. This is an important improvement to ensure a reliable and level fit.

The next step is to replace the aluminum legs with hydraulic ones made of steel, which should improve the softness of the landing and allow landing on an uneven surface.

Well, we are waiting for an upgrade and new records.

PS Video reminded me of “The cheapest way to travel” from the good old book “ Entertaining Physics ” :)
