Express MD1 already day without control

On Thursday, July 4, 2013, at 13:37 Moscow time, the Express-MD1 satellite came out of control of the RSCC control center. At 19:00 Moscow time on July 4, it was decided that it would not be possible to quickly restore the operation of the satellite.

About 117 million people living in the Central European part of Russia and the Ural region are left without a signal. TV channels such as Channel One, Channel Five, a group of channels from VGTRK, and others (for example, Arms) are not available.

A similar situation was a year ago with the YAMAL-201 satellite, when there was no signal for 14 hours. There are suspicions that the work of the Express-MD1 satellite will not be restored. It's a shame that there was a failure on such a young satellite (it was launched quite recently - in February 2009).
