Microsoft has developed a touch screen 3D tactile feedback
Microsoft introduced a three-dimensional touch screen, which is equipped with a tactile feedback system (Actuated 3-D Display with Haptic Feedback). The announcement of this was published on Microsoft Research . Thanks to the new technology of the company, users will be able to literally feel what they see on the screen.
The user can feel with his fingers the objects that he sees on the screen with the help of a special manipulator arm, which moves the screen back and forth. Transfer of tactile sensations from virtual objects is achieved by moving the screen. The objects themselves can be touched (the movements of the display convey the shape and size) and move them with your fingers (here the mass of the object is also transmitted).

In the demonstration, you can see how the cubes of stone, wood and foam rubber are “thrown out” of the screen, and the experimenter’s finger feels the greatest resistance when trying to move the stone cube.
System developers believe that it can be used in medicine - and, of course, in video games ( we leave here the widest scope for imagination ).
