In the US, give 20 years in prison for the wrong meta tags
In the United States, the Child Protection and Safety Act ( PDF ) was approved by both houses of parliament. It also refers to the Internet. In particular, the law provides penalties for the incorrect use of meta tags in web page titles (see section 703 in the text of the document). This refers to search engine optimization with the deliberate use of child-friendly meta tags (names of toys and cartoon characters, such as pokemon) on web pages that contain pornography and other “adult” content.
Lawmakers acknowledged that such use of meta tags equates to luring children to "adult" sites and should be severely punished. If the intent is proven, the webmaster faces imprisonment for up to 20 years.
