Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed an anti-piracy law protecting the rights of film and video producers on the Internet.The document will come into force on August 1, 2013.Earlier, the law was adopted by the State Duma and approved by the Federation Council.
Under the new law, a single state register of works protected by copyright will be created. The arbitrator is appointed by the Moscow City Court. Now the copyright holder, who has found his television or movie on the Internet, has the right to apply for taking measures to restrict access to the site, improperly disseminating this information. Within three days, Roskomnadzor must determine the hosting provider and notify him with a request to take measures to remove such materials.
In one day, the provider must notify the site owner that it is necessary to remove the disputed information within 24 hours. If the owner of the resource refuses to do so or stays idle, then the hosting provider must limit access to the resource no later than three days from the date of receipt of the notification. ')
If the court subsequently recognizes the blocked content as legitimate, access to it can again be opened, according to Interfax.
