Bitcoin: Ordering and getting Little Jalapeno from Butterfly Labs

The desire to participate in the mining of bitcoins appeared in the summer of last year, when the rate crawled up to 20 euro per piece.
After reading about how people are perverted in the construction of mining farms, how much it "eats" electricity and hums, it was decided to make a pre-order on Little Jalapelo.

Butterfly Labs promised 4.5 GH for funny Watts. Again, the Internet wrote that the comrades of the "grandmothers" people are not mandatory, the dates are constantly shifting, but in the end the "iron" is sent.
So, at the end of August, two pieces were paid through PayPal for 150 ye each apiece plus a parcel somewhere around 30 euro.
And stretched long months of postponement and waiting. When ordering, I was expecting to receive an order in February-March with the worst “cards”, how naive I was ...
But this is all the lyrics. The revival began in May-June, when shipping Little Jalapeno began to ordinary buyers. Prior to this, the developer unit was sent to all testers and celebrities from IT.
And so I began to closely monitor the shipping blog
In the middle of June I received an e-mail that my order was sent to USPS and on the 25th of June the package was tracked on the Ukrposhta website and sent to customs.

And on July 1st, tracking said that my package from customs went to my post office.
Today I took the parcel, and was surprised that the total package reached in less than two weeks.

TESTING

The device is a cube weighing about two kilograms, rather it is because of the powerful radiator inside and the metal cover.
The power supply unit resembles a PSU from a regular laptop, and most likely it is.
Connect to computer via USB.
Connecting to Windows 7 went smoothly, and windows reported that the device drivers were installed successfully. EasyMiner was downloaded from the manufacturer's website. He recognized the devices, and happily began to mine at a speed of about 10.5 GH.

RASPBERRIES

I wanted to connect these two devices to the Raspberry Pi, throw it into the pantry and enjoy the increase in my Bitcoin wallet.

Looking ahead to say that I fully failed to enjoy.

On the “raspberry” is the RPIBMC distribution, based on Debian 7.

But after two hours of mining, I was in for a cruel disappointment - one of the devices stopped mining and blinking lights.

Most likely I will send it to Butterfly Labs because on the product page they write about the Lifetime warranty:
Warranty: This unit's system board has a
lifetime warranty from manufacture
or component failure.

Today I received the device from the repair.

From the US came for 6! days, for which ukpochte a big plus.
In the package was only! A device without a power supply and a USB cable, for which rays are flying in the BFL ...
I sent a complete set
I will buy a separate power supply and power cord.

I bought a 12V 5A power supply with the correct plug for 10U
Friends of the SC strongly recommended not to hang two devices on one power supply unit.
