We are saved! Genymotion - forget about your slowplate emulator
I think everyone who mastered the development of applications for Android, immediately realized the impossibility of testing programs without a real device. And all because the official Android emulator suffers from serious performance problems.
But do not be discouraged! Genymotion is presented to your attention - a solution based on the Virtual Box, which virtualizes, and does not emulate Android, hence the crazy performance gains.
You will say that before there were solutions based on virtualization. But all that I saw required a long setup and contained difficulties in the work in the future. In turn, Genymotion has a full set of tools for fast and high-quality work: a shell, more than 10 virtual devices and integration with Eclipse and Android Studio. What does it all work on Linux, Mac and Windows and has a mind-blowing UI.
According to several tests that Cyril Mottier conducted , on Nexus 4 and on the Genymotion instance, the following results were obtained:

From nice features: a simple emulation of GPS coordinates, built-in Google Apps on many images, a shell allowing you to control sensors, quick start and deployment.
Now Genymotion is in the active development stage and lacks some features, but, in my opinion, it is already suitable for use in production.
