Recently, Google spent $ 1 billion on land for the construction of its new headquarters in London and signed a contract for its design by the architectural firm Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM),
writes The Verge.
The cost of the headquarters is estimated at more than 1.6 billion dollars. The 11-storey building will extend 330 meters in length (like three and a half football fields). Like most modern projects, it will be environmentally friendly - architects intend to receive the highest rating from
BREEAM - and will be built using steel structures and cross-laminated wood panels, which is unusual for buildings of this size.

The new headquarters will be located next to the Kings Cross St. Pankrass metro station, a major transportation hub that combines six metro lines. Most of the first floor of the building will be set aside for restaurants, cafes and shops, and a garden will be set up on the roof.
The headquarters building will fully occupy one side of Kings Boulevard, a new street that connects the Regents Canal and Granary Square, where St. Martins Central College, one of the most famous art and design colleges in the UK, is located. Kings Cross plan to make an international center of business and culture - and Google will be just in the center of this center. If the Camden district approves the project, the building will be built by 2017.
