^ p in OpenOffice

I read / saw / heard a lot of discussions on the topic “Down with MS Word, give OO Writer”, but I’ll not go completely to OpenOffice for one simple reason: I need to make text in plain text every day, in which paragraphs are marked with tags . Yes, I'm not stupid, I can write a program or make a script on the site that does it, but it is necessary that way. Replace ^ p with ^ p in a text processor (^ p is a special character for a paragraph in MS Word). I read the help in OpenOffice, looked at the list of special characters and their designations, but in vain, even looked on the Internet, but did not find it. The truth did not really try, introducing instead of himself an ordinary lazy user.
It seems to me that it is from such trifles as the simplicity of being in the help of a special character to designate a paragraph, and the simplicity and convenience of the product is obtained.
I would be grateful if someone will tell you how to do it, but please do not say that I am a lamer or something like that. If you find it, then this does not mean that everyone else can find it, and the product is made primarily for ordinary users, and not for the guru circle, only who all over the world know how it works.
