Google cleared the planet from the clouds

The phrase that modern technologies are almost indistinguishable from magic has already become commonplace. And here is another example - Google has just rid the Earth of clouds. Well, google earth at least. Yesterday there was an update of satellite images for Google Earth and Google Maps, in which photos in higher resolution were taken - and without clouds.



This was made possible thanks to the tools created for the project Planetary Time Machine , which was shown at the beginning of the month. Google was able to process and combine all the photos that have accumulated for each region of the planet - hundreds of terabytes of data - and get a “clean” image of the entire planet.

New photos of better quality for Russia, Central Africa and Indonesia have also become part of the update.
