The site Boeing the opportunity to track the position of the aircraft is almost like in the simulator

The tracking of airplanes on the map is not such a rare service, however, the Boeing website realized this possibility quite realistic for the web: the selected flight can be observed on the Google Earth map from the side, from the aircraft cabin and schematically - as is done on most tracking services. For completeness, you can turn on (or off) the characteristic sound of the engines of the Boeing 787.

In order to see how the new feature looks like, you can go here and in the row of the selected flight click View on Google Earth . After that, the browser (Google Earth plugin required) will display a fairly realistic model of the aircraft moving over the earth's surface, the role of which is just performed by Google Earth.

If you click on Passenger View, then - as the name implies - you can watch the flight from the passenger seat. Something like this (although there is a suspicion that this is still a static picture - it has never been updated in 10 minutes):

As you can see, the observed animation is not scripted, but is updated in real time - there is a corresponding Last Update indicator at the bottom left.
