Microsoft is going to license its console and computer games for porting them to mobile devices. Porting will not be the Redmond giant itself, but its new partner, the Japanese gaming company Klab Inc, which is engaged in the release of games for various mobile platforms (for the time being, this is iOS and Android).
Klab Inc. in the near future will be engaged in porting "Age of Empires" and other games from Microsoft to mobile devices. As for the game mentioned above, it will be accessible (by the free-to-play model) by the end of 2013 (the reporting period), after which other toys will be launched on mobile gaming platforms. Microsoft confirmed the information about Age of Empires, but for the release of other games, the representatives of the corporation do not yet give additional comments.
')
Earlier, the corporation had already tried to port the “Ms. 'Splosion Man' on mobile platforms, so this is not the first such company experience. Apparently, Microsoft is trying to earn some money on the old and "star" games, licensing them to third-party companies. Hopefully, other popular toys will soon appear on smartphones - in this case, in a literal sense, the game is experiencing a rebirth.
UPD . Microsoft has
announced that the game will be released for Windows Phone, but later than for Android and iOS. Also, representatives of the company say that only this game is being prepared for the release on mobile platforms, we are not talking about all the others.
