Recently on Habré there was
an article about alternative tic-tac-toe . For the “Sea Battle” game, which is no less popular with children, we also came up with an advanced version, which allows us to hope not only for good luck, but also for mental abilities. An extremely minor change opens up a whole range of possibilities for the application of logic.
And the playing field, and the set of ships, and the rules of their deployment is no different from the standard - in a square field (although no one forbids the use of fields of other forms) you need to place one four-cell, two three-cell, three two-cell and four one-cell ships that do not touch each other even angle. Each shot is an indication of the coordinates of the cell. If a ship is in a cage, then, as usual, the gunman is reported to have "killed" or "wounded." But if there is no ship in the cage, then besides the standard “by”, a number is also reported, which means the number of neighboring cells occupied by the ships (as in the famous game “Minesweeper”). And this is the only difference in the rules.
As a result of the rule change, every shot by gives a bunch of additional information that you need to be able to competently use. Well, if the number 0 is reported, it means that you can safely cross out eight neighboring cells, and if the number reported is different, then you need to strain your brains hard to extract something useful from it. Accordingly, the winner is not the one who was lucky enough to get into chetyrehtrubnik first shot, but one who will be able to quickly extract information from the mysterious numbers.

Consider a small example (the situation often happens in a regular game) - we managed to quickly make a four-pipe, but trying to determine its continuation, we missed once. The resulting troika is just a storehouse of information. Immediately after chetyrehbrubnik we can, without stopping, sink the next ship with a series of shots b1, b2, b3. This case, of course, is simple, but there are also much more complex arguments. Those interested can play this game:

In general, sea battle is one of the favorite objects in the creation of all sorts of puzzles. A small, well-known from childhood set allows you to get a huge variety of options. The most famous version of the puzzle - to restore the location of the ships, knowing the number of occupied cells in all rows and columns - is often published in print. But for the game, it is not very suitable, but the “sapper” option is very organic in the game.
Well, finally, I propose a task. The game has already made several shots and, oh! horror, all by. Try to destroy all the enemy ships, no longer miss. Answers (listing the coordinates of the shots) accept in a personal. The first five correctly answered, I promise a plus in karma.
