We are already following
13 promising start-ups whose goal is to improve existing battery technologies for various industries, but there are alternative ideas that are not directly related to the inside of batteries.

The French company
SunPartner Group , engaged in solar panels and other solutions that use the sun as an energy source, is considering the possibility of creating a screen that can power a smartphone using solar energy.
Prototype screen is at the testing stage:

Using the sun as an energy source for phones is not a new idea. The budget phone Samsung Crest Solar 2009 added about 5-10 minutes of talk time per hour spent in the sun. The problem was that the photocells were placed on the back of the phone, which was not very convenient, because, for example, sitting in a cafe, the phone had to be put face down, which often led to missed calls and screen damage. SunPartner, on the other hand, created a transparent screen in which they placed photocells that collect solar energy through special lenses, which make it possible to more effectively collect solar energy from the entire surface of the screen.
At the moment, the prototype is 82% transparent - the company promises to bring this value to 90% in the near future.

This technology promises to increase the work of smartphones on one charge by at least 20%. SunParner believe that this will be the first serious step in this direction since the widespread introduction of lithium-ion batteries.
Nokia is already in talks with SunPartner and promises to show prototypes of phones with such screens for 1-2 years.
