Verify site ownership in Webmaster Tools with Google Tag Manager

If you used Google Tag Manager to add and update tags on your site, you can quickly and easily confirm ownership of it. This is done in Webmaster Tools using the container fragment code .

Do the following:

1. On the Webmaster Tools home page, click Manage Site and select Confirm ownership of this site . If you haven’t added it yet, click the Add site button at the top right.

To do this, you must have “View, Edit and Manage” permissions at the account level in the Google Tag Manager.

2. On the confirmation page, select Google Tag Manager as the verification method and follow the instructions on the screen.



3. Click Verify .
