PRISM: Apple commented on information about interaction with special services.

After the appearance of details about the interaction of commercial companies with the government using PRISM, Apple published its commentary explaining the company's policy in this direction.

From September 1, 2012, and until May 31, 2013, I received from 4,000 to 5,000 requests that required disclosure of data on 10,000 accounts or Apple devices. The main reason for the request - the search for missing children and the prevention of suicides, but Apple's lawyers studied each request if it could be challenged and not executed - and that was done.

More importantly, Apple , unlike Microsoft and Skype, cannot decrypt those services that use end-point encryption:
1) iMessage
2) Facetime
3) In the near future iCloud Keychain

Data from these services cannot be decrypted by Apple and therefore not transferred to the authorities, in addition, the company does not store data about requests in the map application and Siri.
