As many know, an experiment has recently begun in Moscow with the possibility of renting a bicycle. Trying to enroll in the "bicycle" capital of the world, it may be curious to look at how highly technological it is proposed to organize bicycle parking in Japan - with its super-responsible citizens and a reverent attitude to electronics.
The Japanese company Giken installed the Eco Cycle facility in Tokyo in Kounanhoshi Park, which from afar can be mistaken for a metro station, although it is in fact a complex robotized installation, the task of which is to take a bike, drop it underground, place it in a vault. fee and pay back if necessary. From the point of view of benefits, we are talking not only about the safety of the bike from intruders, but also about the serious savings of space for bicycles that park everywhere, pushing the front wheel through a special grille, thus occupying a significant place. It is best to watch the video under the cut (carefully, there are advertising frames that can be considered illegal in Russia): The engineering scheme of the structure - the cylindrical part under the ground - is shown in the screenshot below; a cylinder 11 meters high and diameters of 8 can hold 204 bicycles. The first association that comes to mind is about the same way people were kept in the Matrix and also released Neo. The cost of using the unit is for students of 1,300 yen (about $ 14), for everyone else - 1,800 yen (a little more than $ 19) per month.
