Another security hole in Skype

FOREWORD

In the fall of 2012, a respected community had already discussed the vulnerability on Skype. The discussion passed on all major news sites and received wide publicity ie. went very well, as a result, Microsoft finally closed this vulnerability. The purpose of this article is similar - to attract as much attention to the problem as possible in the hope that Microsoft will respond and fix its security system in Skype.

Through this hole it is impossible to crack your Skype account, but the consequences can be even sadder. In the security system of Skype, there is such a service by clicking the right mouse button on the contact, from the context menu you can select the item “Block this user” and tick the box “Report violation of rules by this subscriber”.

This service works great and helps in the fight against spam. But as always, "enterprising" users were found and now they use this service in the "fight against unwanted" Skype users. How it works - you can do a search by login and block directly from the search and do a report or, knowing the login, simply call the menu via skype: insert_username_here? Menu .
')
According to preliminary calculations, 9 (perhaps more) of such complaints are sufficient and the account is automatically blocked. Now, these newly-minted "hackers" are already going to the group, placed through the social. network information which account you want to block and it is blocked for a very short time.

Now the most unpleasant thing is that the Skype support service does not consider any specific cases of automatic account blocking. The answer is one - you violated clause 6.3 of the Skype Terms of Use. As a result, what happens is if you have important contacts, a history of correspondence, a beautiful and memorable login to which you have long been accustomed, paid subscriptions, money on a balance sheet, etc. you lose it all and forever. A stolen account can be restored through a support, proving that this is your account, and in this case it is useless to prove something.

On the Skype forum, this problem has been discussed for a long time, here is one of the topics goo.gl/64aDA , but unfortunately nothing changes. The author of these lines suffered personally from the loss of the account, but maybe someone does not consider the current situation with automatic blocking in Skype a problem, please discuss it in the comments.
