The first of the three planned release candidates for Firefox 2 was made
publicly available yesterday, September 27th. Windows, Mac and Linux versions are available in 38 languages, including Russian and Belarusian.
Like some previous versions of the free browser, Firefox 2.0 comes out later. It
was originally
planned that the final release will take place on August 15, 2006, but it was not possible to meet the deadlines. According to the
new schedule , the official release was scheduled for October 25, 2006, and three release candidates were scheduled to appear on September 20, October 3 and October 12. But now it is clear that the dates have shifted by a week. Thus, the final release will probably appear before November 1, 2006.
