AMD introduced the first processors for desktop computers with a frequency of up to 5.0 GHz

Today at the E3 show in Los Angeles, AMD announced the world's first commercially available processors, the clock frequency of which reaches 5.0 GHz.

The processors belong to the Vishera family and will be included in the new line of FX-9000. Announced two models, FX-9370 and FX-9590. In each of them, there are eight Piledriver cores and 8 MB of third-level cache memory, technical process - 32-nm. To install the processors will need a socket AM3 +. The maximum value of dissipated thermal energy is 220 watts. DDR3-1866 memory is supported. The remaining details of AMD has not yet disclosed.

Rumors about this went for a long time, however, earlier it was about a certain project "Centurion", which was intended for overclockers and fans of AMD processors.
