Two years of development, testing and debugging of
the OpenHift cloud from RedHat have come to an end. The first tariff plan, Silver Plan, is published. A
3-month test drive is available .
As already mentioned in the last article (
Installing WordPress in the OpenShift cloud ), with a free and test mode, a regular WordPress site showed extremely poor performance even in comparison with cheap virtual hosting. The situation improved with the transition to the Medium mode, which could be begged through the support service. From this day, you can get this opportunity honestly, for money :)
Free posting also remained, but was slightly clipped . At a minimum, disconnected the free connection of the main domain. Now, free applications can only be placed in the rhcloud.com subdomain.
Upd : For Russia, paid access is closed. There is the possibility of payment through a letter to the support service.

Why do I personally like this service? 1. It is easy to set up for standard tasks, such as creating a WordPress website. Unlike Google clouds, Amazon (despite the fact that OpenShift itself flies to Amazon EC2)
2. GIT support. If you need constant and confident development of the site.
3. It has the ability to scale like VDS-hosting, but it does not require problems with setting up your server and the cost of its administration;
4. There are some tricky mechanisms for auto-load balancing, but in my version they are useless for PHP (I could not run them for WordPress)
5. It is convenient to hold test sites there and conduct group development. Closed GIT is free, with auto-deployment of the application a second after the download, testing and rollbacks. Unlike GitHub.
If the paid rate really allows to get a normal performance comparable to VDS, I will transfer all my projects there.
I want to buy a paid version and play with it for 3 months. By results I will unsubscribe.
