Lawsuit for $ 3 billion against the NSA, Obama, Verizon and the US Justice Department

Several US citizens filed a class action lawsuit in the District of Columbia. Barack Obama (President of the United States), the National Security Agency, the Department of Justice and Verizon Communications, as well as the leaders of these organizations, are listed as respondents.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Larry Klayman, a former Attorney General of the Ministry of Justice, and two Philadelphia residents, Charles and Mary Ann Strange (Charles and Mary Ann Strange), on behalf of themselves, as well as other citizens who were in the same situation. . That is, on behalf of all Verizon Communications subscribers.

The plaintiffs state that “the defendants violated their constitutional rights, privacy, freedom of speech and association, the right to avoid unreasonable searches and confiscations”. Specifically, the defendants are charged with violation of the First, Fourth and Fifth Amendments to the US Constitution.

Although the President, the Minister of Justice and the Director of the NSA have conditional immunity against legal actions, immunity does not work in the event of a violation of the constitutional rights of US citizens.
')
The violation of the Constitution came to light after declassifying a FISC secret order to transmit to the NSA metadata about calls to all Verizon subscribers from April to July 2013, with the delivery of information on a daily basis (numbers of subscribers, time and duration of calls). The secret NSA tracking program was initiated with the knowledge and direct order of the US President.

Verizon Court Order

On June 6, 2013, the Director of National Intelligence of the United States officially recognized the authenticity of this document and confirmed that the NSA did indeed take away from Verizon the metadata about the calls of all subscribers, that is, more than 100 million entries per day.

Since the lawsuit is a collective one, in case of a win, the cases collected from the plaintiffs will be divided equally between the Verizon subscribers. The court may order the termination of a secret intelligence gathering program and will require the destruction of all information collected.

PS It should be added that Larry Clayman is a regular participant in high-profile trials, some of which are listed in a Wikipedia article . With regret, we must assume that he, it seems, has not yet won any.
