New chipsets from Texas Instruments will speed up charging time and increase battery life for smartphones and tablets

Mobile devices consume more and more energy - a fact that does not require proof. With each mobile release, we are offering more and more powerful and energy-efficient solutions to our attention, but in the world of battery technology, on the other hand, is quite quiet. In this regard, there is a negative trend: more and more devices are coming out with internal, non-removable lithium-ion batteries, the capacity of which decreases with time, and the only thing left for the owners to contact is the service center.

Texas Instruments (TI) giants are working hard on this problem, and last Thursday announced new chipsets that will improve existing lithium-ion batteries. The solution offered by them will not increase the operating time of your mobile device from a single charge, but will help to significantly reduce the charge time . “Smart” chargers, equipped with MaxLife technology, will charge batteries up to 30% faster, and also increase battery life. This means that when using a mobile device using a new technology from TI, over the course of a year, its battery practically does not lose in capacity compared to a new battery ( li-ion batteries irrevocably lose capacity over time ).

New autonomous battery and battery charger monitoring system from TI allows lowering power consumption by software during charging, improving battery protection while charging and improving temperature conditions - working with this system will allow engineers to adapt the charge algorithm to support the maximum number of device modifications, and it will also simplify the creation of more stable high-capacity batteries (more accurate indication of charge and mV reading).

This is great news, and we will closely monitor the development of these chipsets and introduce the necessary components into our batteries, if our tests confirm the effectiveness of this new technology!
