Smartwatch
The idea of smart watches has been flying in the air for a long time. Indeed, how convenient it would be to get additional functions in such a familiar device as a clock. The concept became even more popular when Apple released its “watch'e obrazny” iPod Nano. What did we see after this? A whole wave of strange devices that carry the title of smart watches. Cookoo, Pebble, Sony LiveView & Smartwatch. All of these devices seemed somehow unfinished and did not gain popularity. Let's try to understand the reasons for the ideological failure of these products.

The first reason - Design
Despite the fact that the watches are accessories that adorn their owners for over ten years, the developers of the products listed above have relied on the pseudo-functional, leaving the design of watches behind. Pebble and SmartWatch look unnatural on the hand and do not decorate their owner. With this approach, a large part of the “non-gikovskoy” audience, and especially the female half of it, was eliminated.
Reason Two - Functional
For unknown reasons, the developers of smart watches are now concentrating on notifications, as the main functionality of SmartWatch. This is especially noticeable in the Cookoo product. Undoubtedly, notifications are important in such devices, however, the concept of wearable electronics provides much wider use. What is required of smart chronometer developers is to build “Google Now” on the spot. Convenient interface solution that can provide access to the necessary information at the moment, and, of course, allows you to enter any information into the watch itself using the now so popular voice input. The concept of wearable electronics in the case of smart watches, and in the case of Google Glass differs slightly, developers should only consider the developments of Google in their products. Just think, we still haven’t gotten the SmartWatch even with a built-in microphone!
Reason Three - Quality
Products from current manufacturers of smart watches do not differ in the special quality of workmanship and materials. Obviously, a device that is closer to the person than even his favorite smartphone should provide the maximum comfortable “User Experience”.
Total
As you can see, we have not yet seen the correct implementation of the concept of smart watches. The prospects for wearable electronics are enormous, and the clock is an important part of bringing this concept to life. The question remains - Who will launch the “real product” first on the market - Google? Apple? Microsoft?
