The question of the emergence of domains in Russian discussed with ICANN

The president of ICANN , an international Internet corporation managing an address space on the Internet, was recently on a working visit in Moscow, Ru-enter reports . At the meeting of Mr. Paul Tumi with the members of the Council of the Coordination Center of the national domain RU , the introduction of national alphabets into the domain name system, as well as the emergence of Russian-language domains expected in the near future, was discussed in detail.

While in Moscow, Mr. Tumi took part in the conference “The State and Prospects for the Development of the Internet in Russia”, held from September 19 to September 21, organized annually by the Association of Documentary Telecommunications in Vatutinki near Moscow. Discussed, in particular, the positions of ICANN and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on the issue of Internet governance. Data were presented on the development of the RU domain - on the introduction of the offer, testing of the new protocol of interaction between the registrars and the technical center. In addition, they talked about the project of duplication of nameservers and legislative initiatives that could make adjustments to the existing registration model.
