From 4 mayors of cities in Denmark, Universal Music requires a payment of 42 thousand dollars for a musical parody of Gangnam Style
“Not everything is so good in the Kingdom of Denmark”, this saying can now be used for its intended purpose, so to speak. In Denmark, maybe everything is not bad, but this is not true of the four mayors of different cities in Denmark. They decided to perform a parody of Gangnam Style (performed by the South Korean reference frame Psy), in order to draw attention to the problems of their regions. But the organization drew attention to the clip, which cannot help Denmark in any way, but thanks to it, these four men now have problems. The name of the organization is Universal Music, and it now requires compensation in the amount of 42 thousand dollars, or, if the mayors refuse to pay, a lawsuit will be initiated into violation of copyright.
As for the notorious clip (the original one), it has already gained over one and a half billion (!) Views, and the PSY frame has acquired 5.5 million subscribers for its channel. To say that this person is an internet sensation, to say nothing. Of course, the value of his "product" is not worth discussing in Habré.

So, the four mayors of the Danish cities decided to perform a parody of the clip, and put this video on the Web. The officials hoped that all this would attract the attention of the Danes, and indeed the people of other countries, to the problems of the Danish regions (of an economic nature). Almost immediately after the appearance of a parody on the Web, Universal Music drew attention to the clip. Representatives of this company demanded payment of $ 42,000 from officials ($ 10,500 each) for “acquiring a license” for music from the original clip, which sounds in a parody. Otherwise, within 24 hours, the company promised to initiate legal proceedings, the total amount of “licensing fees” for which could be much higher than the original $ 42,000.
According to Universal Music, the officials used the popular music video / music to increase the number of subscribers on YouTube’s own channels, plus everything, to increase their chances of being re-elected. In other words, Universal Music accuses mayors of extracting benefits (if not monetary) from a copyrighted work.
Now the mayors have already deleted the original video, removed the unfortunate music, and uploaded the video again. Without music and with occasional applause, it all looks a bit strange now.
