Mozilla and Foxconn presented the first tablet based on Firefox OS

Many companies, including Sony, ZTE and some others, have long announced their intention to release phones based on Firefox OS. Some models of such devices have even appeared on sale . Now, some manufacturers of phones and tablets, including Foxconn, declare their intention to release a tablet based on Firefox OS, with an emphasis on using web applications (in fact, the entire Firefox OS is “accented” on this).

Foxconn and Mozilla held a joint press conference in Taiwan, where they announced the start of cooperation in this direction. Actually, Foxconn is not a brand, it is a contracting company that manufactures / assembles devices for such well-known corporations as Apple, Acer, Dell and others.

Therefore, when Mozilla and Foxconn talk about five different models of devices based on Firefox OS, it should be understood that all these are still brands that will release such devices under their own brand. Among other things, Mozilla said that based on its "cloud" OSes, other types of devices can be released, including smart TV.

Unfortunately, it is not clear who will sell the tablet with Firefox OS, how much such a device will cost, and when it will be available. But, probably, soon all of this will be known.
