The famous "cemetery of video games" are going to dig

Fuel Industries from Canada received permission from the city of Alamogordo to “exhume” the legendary “cemetery of video games” that has existed for 30 years. In September 1983, in New Mexico, Atari dug in an impressive number (from various sources, from 10 to 20 trucks) of unsold Atari 2600 consoles, accessories and game cartridges. It is customary to think that among them the main part consisted of several million copies of the game ET, recognized as one of the worst products in the entire history of the gaming industry.

Over time, this event received the status of a city legend, so the fact of whether such a “burial” of games actually happened remains in doubt. That is why Fuel Industries decided to remove the entire excavation process and release a documentary. For all this, the company has exactly six months. Maybe very soon we will be able to look at how the Atari 2600 consoles look like, which have lain in the desert for 30 years!
