New Anti-cutting law in the Russian Federation

On January 1, 2008, a new copyright law enters into force along with amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: now not only distributors of unlicensed goods, but downloading and distributing users are responsible, that is, even for publishing a link to a broken program or an author’s multimedia file - you faces 6 years of imprisonment!

Also, the law contains a recommendation for the authors of free programs to make their projects paid and corresponding in price to their foreign counterparts!
