Analytical agency Forrester Research has prepared a forecast in which it reports that about 10% of all HDTV television sets purchased during the Christmas shopping season will be returned to the store. This figure is significantly different from last year, when buyers returned every fifth TV. Forrester analysts believe that the reason for the return of HD TVs is the disappointment that shoppers have experienced connecting standard DVD players to HDTV. Some researchers believe that about 40% of users have never watched a single movie in HDTV quality on their high-resolution TVs.
This year, the number of "advanced" users has increased. And thanks to the availability of devices that allow playing HDTV movies and increasing the general literacy level of buyers who know that they need not only an HD TV, but also a special player to get the expected effect.
