On Saturday, September 23, the servers of the company
.masterhost were subjected to a distributed DDoS attack. For some time, parasitic traffic prevented access to a number of resources hosted on the site hosting provider. According to the bloggers,
Mail.Ru and
SpyLog were partially covered along with the .masterhost servers - some of the services of these companies were unavailable.
According to Dmitry Glavatsky, head of the pr-department of the company .masterhost, technical support specialists managed to quell the attack for an hour and a half by filtering traffic using special software.
Commenting on the incident, the representative of the hosting provider did not specifically identify its probable cause: “Usually attackers take DDoS attacks in order to impede or terminate access to a resource. The reasons for such attacks can be very different - from personal insult to the site owner to the desire to get rid of competitors. ”
