Mataerial: 3D printer that prints on weight

Until now, we have seen 3D printers that successfully cope with their task, but work in a horizontal position, and the models created are also placed strictly in a certain order. There was somehow news about a printer-pistol, which can be used to create figures on weight, but the resulting models, to put it mildly, are inaccurate. The new Mataerial printer can print on horizontal, vertical and inclined surfaces. At the same time, the shapes created by the printer retain their shape without problems.

Probably, this type of printing can be useful for architects, designers, just creatives, creating all sorts of unusual things, which then admire the audience. Unfortunately, it is not entirely clear what kind of material is used for printing, and how durable it is. So you could think about the "fine-tuning" of the device and the ability to print ready-made furniture. Once, and printed himself a chair, or a stool. Among other things, the printer is able to print in color, working in CMYK.

Here's a video on working with color (thanks to throble ).

The price of the device is also not announced yet, but it can be assumed that the Mataerial is worth more than one ten thousand dollars. The Mataerial is more of an industrial robot capable of creating plastic models than just a printer. I did not find price information on the developers site .

In order to better understand the capabilities of the printer, I suggest watching the video.
