Recently it became known that Apple filed a patent application, which describes the mechanism for automatically adjusting the maximum playback volume in iPods. This innovation supposedly will protect the ears of "particularly sensitive" users.
Apparently, the protection mechanism may indeed appear in future versions of the iPod (or other Apple devices), as it turns out that in February last year the company had to respond in court on charges that iPod players could damage the user's ear. Probably, only “software protection” (in 2006, Apple released an iPod software update that allows you to set a personal volume limit) is not enough.
Nothing is known about the patent yet. But, as we know, Apple registers them for a reason ... ')
