Announcement of the new Xbox One has demonstrated that with the release of the new brainchild, Microsoft will offer the user not only nextgen-toys, but also new opportunities when watching TV and other media content.
Recently, MS confirmed its interest in TV, having
patented the “achivok” system, which the user can get for viewing media.
Last year,
the news about another no less unusual Microsoft patent was already
discussed at Habré. Then the IT giant and one of the most significant players in the market of a new generation of game consoles registered the idea to control access to media content through the Kinect device. This time, the developer’s efforts are directed not at restricting the user, but at motivating to consume content.
You can get achievements for watching a particular movie or for the n-th number of viewed seasons of your favorite show or series. However, here, as in the case of the previous patent, Microsoft again tries itself in the role of Big Brother: the new concept provides the ability to control the presence of the user on the couch in front of Kinect at the moment of the show - “farm” achievements, leaving the “zomboyaschik” to work in an empty room work out.

Also in the annex to the patent talked about the possibility of using Kinect to obtain achievements involving certain actions by the user, so that for owners of the new Microsoft console next season The Walking Dead, for example, may become a bit more interactive.
