Ask questions to Intel experts. Everything related to video processing on CPU and GPU
We continue the “Ask Questions to Intel Experts” column . Let me remind you briefly of its rules. We invite one of the highly qualified experts in any field of Intel to answer the questions you asked from the residents of Habr. That is, first you ask them (comments to this post), and then, after a few days, a separate post comes out with the answers. Once again we emphasize: “experts express their personal opinion, which is not the official position of the company” . Today, in the role of a specially invited star - Dmitry Serkin , an expert in video coding and video processing on Intel processors, the winner of the internal competition of bloggers Intel Intel Software Networks and just a good person. Here is what he told about himself. I am 26 years old.I work at Intel's central office in Santa Clara.Intel Architecture Group, a division of the Intel Visual and Parallel Computing Group.I am engaged in the development and research in the field of integrated graphics for Intel's top SOC solutions (Ivy Bridge, Haswell, NDA, NDA :)), in particular, in the field of hardware acceleration of video encoding, decoding and processing. In my free time I love to travel with my wife to travel around the state, play volleyball and just do nothing :) He graduated from Lobachevsky UNN, Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics.A career in Intel’s Nizhny Novgorod office began with a third year, after one year as a member of the Intel laboratory at the university. Before graduation, he was an intern, then over the next two years, he rose to become a senior engineer in a team that is developing the Intel Media SDK product. Then he was invited to the US to the current place of work.
We invite everyone to ask Dmitry any questions related to video processing on the CPU and GPU, the theory and practice of video coding. Questions are accepted in the form of comments to this post or through personal messages to me. The post with the answers we will release at the end of this week.
