Out of 5,335,200 LEGO parts, a full-size X-Wing star fighter was built

During the advertising campaign before the premiere of the animated series " The Chronicles of Yoda " based on the "Star Wars" in New York, the model of the famous X-Wing fighter was installed. This is an exact copy of the toy X-Wing from the LEGO set, only 42 times larger. The length of the gigantic toy is 13 meters, the wingspan is 13.5 meters, the weight is more than 20 tons (together with the steel frame, necessary for the model not to collapse under its own weight). The assembly model 32 workers spent about four months. The fighter makes a sound of the engine running and its nozzles are lit.



Fighter made in the Czech Republic, and then disassembled transported to New York. The model was opened to the public on Thursday, May 23, and those who wish can even sit in the cockpit of a fighter. Exactly thirty years ago from this day, on May 23, 1983, the III (now VI) episode of Star Wars, The Return of the Jedi, was released. A few days later, X-Wing will be taken apart again and taken to California, to Legoland , where it will stay until the end of the year.
