Kim Dotcom was probably completely disappointed in the world: he decided to play patent troll, and hinted to Google, Twitter, Citibank that they were violating his 16-year-old patent regarding two-factor authorization in his account. It is curious that he said this literally a couple of hours after this functionality appeared on Twitter.

Indeed, the patent to which Dotcom refers, the application for which was filed in 1997, and which was issued in 1998, provides for, among other things, a sequence of automatic authorization in the system by entering into the form additional data received via an additional communication channel - which, in general, is the essence of the two-factor. The funniest thing is what followed the initial statement: Dotcom first
stated that he had never tried anyone, but since “violators” are American companies, he is ready to make an exception for them, because the American authorities are suing him; after that, he suddenly
asked the same companies for help - they say, “we are all in the same boat, the DMCA is stopping us all, but they are also trying to land me”.
