Google Drive for Android has been updated - photo documents are recognized and saved as PDF

Google has updated the Android version of the client’s Google Drive service. In addition to updating the application interface in a simplified style (like in Google+), users now have access to a useful feature - a document photographed using the camera of the phone is automatically recognized and saved to Drive as a PDF document.

The new interface looks like a card (card-style layout), which can be “swapped”, and is aligned with the latest update of the social network of the search giant.

It looks like this:

A more significant function - in the English version of "Scan" - looks like this: by clicking on the menu item "Scan", the user automatically uploads a photo of the document to the service, where it is recognized and saved as a PDF document. After that, of course, the contents of the new document can be found by the standard features of Google, that, had the old photo remained, it would be inaccessible.

Among the other changes (besides the standardly mentioned fixes and performance improvements), the support of the new design features in Spreedsheet looks most noticeable - now the table cells can contain text of different fonts and colors; content alignment is also supported on different sides of the cell.

You can upgrade or install the Drive here , although a quick review of reviews about the new “feature” is not yet encouraging. However, in any case, it is always worth a try.
