The essence of the service is the ability to view updates of any page via RSS.
When clarifying the fact of an update, a completely acceptable assumption was made that when a page is updated, new links appear on it. Therefore, the service collects in a ribbon all the links on the page at the specified URL.
The idea of the project came after a regular viewing of
Lebedev’s travels (sorry, who doesn’t like this character). The site has really interesting content, and the feed has not been there for a long time (it appeared, by the way, quite recently). The frequency of updating the site is unclear, and to go there constantly only tired to check. That was written this service.
By the way, now the
official feed of these journeys does not coincide with the actual content of the page (the last entries in the feed are delayed, I don’t know for what reason), i.e. even with RSS on the page, my service fully justifies its original purpose. By the way, here is the link to
my version of the feed from this page .

The difference from existing services to check for updates is that everything works on the fly, i.e. all possible stream settings are transmitted immediately in the request parameters, so everything works in real time. Most of the settings for simplicity made at the checkbox level, although there are more sophisticated options and filters for "advanced users".
It is clear that such a tape cannot satisfy many needs, but it was not originally made as a content grabber, but as a tool for checking page updates.
Well, a bit of "technical" information:
The link text is inserted into the item / title, the link address is inserted into the item / link, the surrounding text is inserted into the item / description (optional custom parameter). In the surrounding text, everything is selected to the nearest external tag in relation to the link being processed, therefore, title and description are often the same. The remaining principles of work are on the page of the service itself.
