The Canonical team involved in the Ubuntu Touch project has long shown the first versions of its mobile OS. Needless to say, new system builds are provided quite often. But until now, the prereleases shown by developers are not suitable for working with a smartphone based on this OS every day. That is, something is good for work, but the developers themselves admit that they will not be able to use the smartphone with this OS normally. But soon the situation should change. By itself, for the better.
Canonical VP Rick Spencer said that ready-for-use builds of the system will be ready by the end of May. “Ready for work” means that the new Ubuntu Touch builds (pre-release, of course) will allow you to receive calls, make calls, send and receive SMS, use the system browser (connect to the Network either via Wi-Fi or 3G), import and edit the contact list, as well as turn off the display while making a call (when the phone is leaning against the ear).

Also, developers are planning to improve the update system so that the existing data will not be lost during the update. This is probably one of the most important criteria for subscribers.

If you want to try the system at work now, it is available
