Little Computer People: the progenitor of Tamagotchi and Sims

In 1985, 10 years before Tamagotchi appeared and 15 years before Sims, Activison released a game about "little computer people." The creators of the game Byron Nilson and Richard Gold.

The whole game is represented only on one screen (the house in the section), in which some time after the launch a character appears (in the version for ZX Spectrum, which I played, a dog also appeared). Interestingly, at each start-up technology of random generation is used, as a result of which each new resident has his own character and habits.

The game is essentially endless, but we not only watch how LCPs do their daily activities — go to the store or to work, feed the dog, talk on the phone, or watch TV. You can enter simple commands that the character is free to execute or not, depending on his mood (God forbid you offer him to eat his dog, he will be offended by death and stop listening to you). The LCP itself can offer you to play poker with him, write a letter about your condition and needs, and much more.

The game is notable for the fact that it worked on computers with small capacities, such as Amstrad and ZX Spectrum, and remained the only of its kind until The Sims appeared in 2000.
