IPTV goes to Krasnoyarsk
Global Telecom is launching a project to create a digital television network in Krasnoyarsk with an initial investment of $ 1.5 million, Prime-TASS reports. At the first stage of work (6 months), it is planned to provide access to the IPTV network to 5 thousand residents of the Vzletka microdistrict. To cover the whole of Krasnoyarsk, according to the company, it requires about $ 38 million.
Currently, Global Telecom is also building an IPTV network in Yekaterinburg. The company expects that the city’s multi-service network at the first stage will cover about 12 thousand subscribers. Its commissioning is scheduled for October 2006, and after that it is planned to further expand the network.
According to the company, the viewer will be provided with interactive television, where you can influence the content of the channels, as well as program your own. In addition, subscribers will be able to have a video-on-demand (VoD) service. Central and local television channels will be broadcast free of charge.
