Casetop turns any smartphone into a laptop / netbook
I remember I really liked the idea of Padfone from Asus, when the phone is inserted into the tablet, and the tablet turns into a laptop, as they say, with a flick of the wrist. Even going to buy this device, but the appearance, in fact, the phone, did not really like, and the purchase did not take place. Now a project has appeared, the purpose of which is to enable any smartphone (with Bluetooth and video output) to be a laptop. The project was named Casetop and now it is actively raising funds on Kickstarter.
Among other things, the phone becomes a touchpad for the new “laptop”. Livi Design is engaged in the project, and as far as it can be understood, the fundraising for the project is quite successful. In any case, in just one day, the project has already collected a tenth of the funds necessary to launch the project. In total, you need 300 thousand US dollars, at the time of this writing, 31,642 dollars were raised. ')
The cost of the “laptop for the phone” is $ 250, but now you can reserve it for $ 220. Of course, if the project does not reach the required level of $ 300,000, they will not produce anything and the money will not go to work.
The project itself is quite interesting by the fact that practically any modern smartphone will work with Casetop, no matter if it is Android, or iOS, or BlackBerry. Now the Casetop configuration is as follows: 11.1-inch 720p display, 56-hour battery, stereo speakers, USB port and keyboard.
If more than 300 thousand dollars are collected, Casetop will get a 1080p display, increased battery capacity and, for example, a touchscreen.
In general, it's time to look at how it all looks:
