AMD has officially announced the release of new processors Phenom 9600 Black Edition, designed for overclocking fans. The main advantage of the new products is an unlocked multiplier, which theoretically makes it possible to achieve good results when the processor is “overclocked”. However, it is worth noting that specific instances are based on B2 stepping, which, as is well known, has an error in the TLB block, which in rare cases causes the system to hang.
Key features of the AMD Phenom 9600 Black Edition:
working frequency of 2.3 GHz;
2 MB cache in the second level;
2 MB of cache memory of the third level;
support for 3.6 GHz system bus HyperTransport 3.0;
support socket processor socket AM2 +.
The main characteristic, due to the specifics of the Black Edition processors, is its “overclocking” potential, but according to some sources, overclockers, having received new items at their disposal, could not make it work stably at a frequency above 2.5 GHz.
